But I do love it. Low trucks>bro trucks anyway.

Hey, look! A truck bed I can reach into while standing flat on my feet next to it.

Not opposed to it being low. I am opposed to the terrible wheels and tires.

I like the design of the wheels, and I think chrome works well with dark red. But could use an other 3 2 or 3 inches of sidewall that’s for sure

I’m super down with this simply based on the fact that it isn’t another Jacked up, angry faced, mall cruiser, rolling MTs just slappitybappin the road all over the place.

I should lower this now that I think of it.

I want this:
nothing huge, big enough to fit my three kids in the back seat and enough bed to fit a bike or a couple trash barrels. 350hp 6 sp manual awd

No k idding! Last year when I moved I used my father in laws f-350 and everytime we put something in it Wondered why this truck that will never go off road is has a 4 and a half foot load height . I can’t imagine buying a modern truck and then deciding it needed to be more inconvenient.

I’d reduce the rim size a touch but yeah, I like it. I’ve got an irrational love for lowered and slammed pickups.

Yeeeeees. When I worked at a dealership we had a base model Ram regular cab short box like that. The ONLY option on it was the Hemi, and a LSD Rear. It was 2wd obviously. Just a prefect little street rod. I want to so much, just needed a 2 or 3 inch drop to be perfect.
It didn’t sell for a few months, so the dealership bought it and it has been used as a service loaner for 7 years now.

Same. There’s a kid in my town with a simple lowered 2wd nissan hardbody D21 I’m unreadably envious of it

The 2wd sport trims are dirt cheap. The biggest reason I got this one is that it’s the only Big Horn Reg cab short bed I’d ever seen.
18s and a drop maybe hmmm.
Got another item for the want list.

As the owner if both a low and a bro truck, they are good for different things.

Wait, what's the bro truck? Surely you don't mean the stock Tundra, since don't you have an F100?

I wouldn’t consider your Toyota a bro truck. It’s still very much useful.

The Tundra isn’t full bro, but it is slightly lifted with ugly aftermarket wheels. The sleek styling of the first gen definitely hide its bro’ness.

I agree that it looks cool, but I’d never consider owning it unless it had much smaller trims and taller sidewalls (ie more conventional tires and wheel and greater wheel well clearances)

Its still lower than a TRD I think . I agree on the first gen styling; it really is a classy timeless design, especially pre refresh, though all refresh models got the fender flares.

Do you know if the TRD used different A arms? The lift on mine is about 3", and is a little too much for the stock A Arms. It already ate a set of ball joints. I added some greasable Moog ball joints, so hopefully that helps a bit.

It’s semi bro. It still keeps a pair of square Spy sunglasses hidden in the consul.

I do not know, but if you compare it to a non-TRD at stock ride height (my uncle’s truck pictured)
you would have to assume that it would use different suspension components. If you ever see a TRD in a junkyard (unlikely) , you should snag the A arms and the fender flares. They have some serious off-road hardware.

I went outside to take these pictures. Not sure whether this answers it, but the TRD has much larger radius wheels and tires.

Mini trucks are cool, but my ultimate guilty pleasure is slammed crew cab long bed dually trucks. Something about them is so wrong, yet lowering a dually doesn’t really hurt it’s main capability of hauling lots of weight.

I really liked the load height of my 1972 F-100. Sadly, it was low because 2wd, and my ‘61 is decidedly less convenient. However, it is a stepside, and the steps are huge, including the industrial rear bumper, which helps.
