My wife and I met at engineering schools. I went on to get my PhD. Yeah, we're raising nerds. That's unavoidable

Home schooling is going okay here too. We’re mostly working on word problems with more than one step. The kid can do math but applying the knowledge is where he gets confused. Honestly I’m just shocked that he’s in 5th grade and they haven’t taught him this stuff yet.
But I’ve seen some real improvement!

We don’t officially get materials from our daughter’s school for two more weeks. We’re doing the best we can get it’s getting dicey. She’s in kindergarten, and half knows how to read. We gotta finish the job somehow.
Glad to hear it's going well on your end!

Duolingo has a new app called Duolingo ABC to help kids learning to read - might check it out.
