- 1 tank of premium gas
And that’s it. My wife has bought groceries a couple of times, though - we usually split that up, but she’s doing it all now because reasons.
Have you cut spending? Or maybe redirected money to car parts, or?

I went from driving about 50 miles per day commuting 6 days per week to 30 miles per week. So I’m definitely saving on gas.

I’ve actually bought things that are entertaining for our lock in: a new ping pong net for my jury rigged ping pong table, a work light to illuminate said table, inner tubes to get our family bikes back on the road. And groceries. I am, however, getting ready to sink some serious money into upgraded computers for my boys. Their social life is pretty much all computer based now, as they play with their friends on line.

Groceries, prescriptions, mower parts, and bills. And some fuel last week. I’m expecting to buy a new lawn tractor battery soon. There will also be some vinyl siding in my near future. That’s about it for now.

Yeah, it's about the same for me. I was driving 45 miles a day at least, and now it's probably 30-50 per week, I'd guess.

Yeah, I'm thinking I need to get the mower running this weekend. We had someone cut the lawn the last two years, but I'm thinking I may do it myself this year if we're going to be stuck at home anyways.

So much money on groceries.
We’re doing some light stocking up in case things get worse here and the crazies start stripping shelves again, but for the most part both of us eating in every meal of every day consumes groceries fast than I’d expect. Plus we’re tipping our Shipt shopper(s) about double what we usually would .
Other that that, lots of office supplies and computer parts.
Warming up the parts cannon on some car stuff but since I’m finding myself not wanting to work on cars I’m mostly holding off.

Groceries are a little higher than usual due to not being able to shop sales (most sale items are sold out).
Gas is way down
Alcohol is way up. Way.
Overall things are down just because we’re not buying clothes or much general décor/maintenance stuff for the house. (I’m not counting the low- 5 figures we just dropped on siding and paint for the house, but that was long overdue)
We’ve left town exactly once to head up to a state park...totally free.
General crafts/toys for the kids are up, but that’s to be expected.

I inherited a really nice electric start self-propelled mower in addition to the riding mower. I may have to get that one running again. It would make it easier to get to the places I can’t reach with the riding mower.
We’re also talking about putting concrete in the side yard. A lot of people around here do it to have a place to park a boat or an R/V.
It would make it easier to get to my storage shed in the back and provide another work space for the upcoming house remodel.

We’re not buying things that aren’t deemed necessary. No tools, no parts nothing of that nature. It’s a tough thing to do this time of year, but with my salary being cut and my wife’s company being heavily impacted we don’t want to use up our cash reserves.

For me it’s groceries and a new battery for my car.
I
had to get a boost from someone after getting groceries recently
. And that was just due to me sitting in my car for about 15 minutes with the ignition on to charge my phone while speaking to a friend.
About to spend more money tonight on a laptop for my daughter as they are going to restart school in April here with online learning.
M
y daughter’s current
laptop is 8 years old. T
he battery is shot and it’s slow mainly because of a slow hard drive (has a mechanical HD, not an SSD).
I upgraded it from Win7 to Win10 yesterday... so it’s at least on a supported OS. So it’s usable on an interim basis.
But what she really wants is a new Macbook... so with the money she makes (she works at a grocery store part time, so luckily, she still has a job) and instead of me spending more time/money getting this old laptop up to snuff, we are going to order her the recently-
updated Macbook Air... which she is partly paying for.

Totally. I usually go to about 2 concerts or music festivals a month, so those are completely out. Have been through a fast food drive thru twice in the past month, and that’s it as far as eating out - several of the restaurants I like are completel y closed now, and eating takeout out of a Styrofoam container just isn’t quite the same anyway.
Also walked away from a nonrefundable d eposit on a Nissan Pao, and postponed indefinitely replacing the 37 year old A/C system in my house. For the time being, depleting the ozone is a safer option than depleting my bank account.
At the moment, it’s just necessary car maintenance, bills, and basic groceries

We’ve filled up one tank of gas in 2 or so weeks.
Not been eating out at all, obviously. Bought a pizza to go nearly three weeks ago...
Food has been getting more and more expensive, so I’ve not been saving in that regard.

I bought a new ergonomic office chair to work from home, decent amount of necessities to avoid going to the store as much as possible, filled up my gas tank even though I’m not going anywhere, kind of kicking myself over that one cause it seemed like a waste.
Of course all this come at the same time as renewing my renters insurance and car insurance, so definitely a painful month.

I bought a $70 webcam. Wife gave me shit as we might not have jobs soon. . .. We can use our phones for some things but I thought it would be better to have a webcam to play charades and P ictionary with relatives. We did it over the weekend with one laptop cam (poor quality) and a cellphone (much better) but figured it was worth the splurge. Back ordered through the end of the month but I think we will be inside for quite some time.

I got the impression I wasn’t the only one to cancel on that dealer - his comment was along the lines of “let me guess, this is because of the coronavirus, right?” .
Maybe, if I still have a job when the government lets us do things again, I can go back and pick it up half price at their going out of business sale or something.

Good on you. I’m sure some of those people feel they can’t afford it.
In our case, I’m slowly working on my wife to do more takeout etc - it’s not money, she’s worried about getting sick and spreading it to the baby or her parents.

I’ve gone from rarely eating out to never. I haven’t had shawarma in ~2 months now so I’ll probably give in an grab some takeout sometime soon. Grocery spending has been mostly normal, apart from not being able to buy toilet paper because I tend to shop late in the day ( which is annoying as both bathrooms are now on their last roll).
I’m still working and foresee no reason for that changing (farmer) so I ordered Ohlins suspension for the 128i and will likely pay a local shop to do a bunch of preventative maintenance on it because they’ve said their business has mostly dried up now. I need to order camber plates and am considering an LSD too .
I want to change a couple of parts on my bike as well (tires, saddle, maybe handlebars) so I think I’ll give that to the local bike shop to do as well as the usual spring clean/lube.

I’ve been buying all kinds of car parts. I’ve also upped my spending on takeout and stuff from my favorite local business and breweries. I know how lucky I am to not have a paycheck af risk in all this, so I figure the least I can do is support my favorite local places to the extent I can.
