Plates are insurance where he lives. So when he took insurance off it, he had to destroy the plates.

Ah, plates are ‘registration’ here in Nova Scotia. You can move them from car to car if you want to. The plates on my Accent are the same ones I had on my Subie.

Yeah, registration/insurance are one in the same. Same organization
