Aus is not in full lock down yet, although I wish we were. Took a moment this weekend to clear my head and go for a blast. Car is just too damn fast to enjoy on backroads for me now. But on the other hand the boost and torque is hard to let go of. Friend brought a drone so pics were taken

Covid hitting pretty hard at work too. Stopped all non urgent elective surgery and only doing cancers + emergencies. Had to change management on a few oesophageal cancer patients so it feels surreal. My plastics and orthopaedics colleagues also talking about taking non-Operative approaches for fractures and fixing the defects later. The non-covid tol l is huge, there isn't much evidence base behind it, and we seem to making decisions based on war experience

This was my second last year of surgical residency but word is we will be doing another 12 months. Training will be disrupted for a lot of people.

Blessed that we are still paid but everyday feels like going into a war one at the hospital

Wishing all you guys the best, stay safe, take it seriously. Always happy to help with questions

Think of it as getting a bonus 12 to 18 month training in applied virology!

Need to learn how to use ventilators more like it . All the politicians promising more ventilators aren’t talking about the fact that only a few people know how to use them, especially in sick covid patients.

A friend of ours is a cardiology surgical nurse. He was just called up to the front lines and will be running triage at a temporary treatment center set up for COVID patients.

I feel for you guys. Be safe!

I do marketing for an orthopa edic practice here in the states and it has been brutal. Lost a massive amount of our case load in a matter of days. Had to close some of our offices, reduce hours at others, and lay many people off.

We just launched an urgent care in an effort to keep non-emergent ortho cases out of the hospitals and keep our employees paid. With the way the numbers have been trending, I think the virus   is going to really hit us locally this week. Praying that our preparations will prove to be effective...

A friend sent me a primer- make sure one end is plugged into the patient, the other end into the wall. If it beeps at you, you’ve made it angry and it is waiting for you to  ask the ICU nurse what to do.

We’re both going to hell, but that made me laugh out loud.

My wife said Crocodile Dundee died and I went to check and it turns out the guy who inspired it died and then the actor who played the NYC prick in the movie died. She is from Japan and never saw the movies until about a month ago I showed her both movies back to back. I was a kid when they came out and I just wanted to see them again. So Paul Hogan is alive!
