Wife’s cruiser was dead. I’m so excited to have something to do! We managed to turn battery R&R into an hour long project. Jumped it with the Crosstour, noticed the terminals were corroded on that one so we cleaned those, got a new battery, spent some time talking about how the positive terminal is red but the electrons really come from the black negative terminal.... home schooling is fun! My kids now have to give me a presentation on how batteries work and how alternators charge them. They’ve both had chemistry and some physics, so I’ll probably learn something. It’ll also help distract me from thinking about spending $170 on a battery when I won’t be making any money for the next few months.
So in summary, I’m having an authentic teacher experience of doing something satisfying and important while not getting paid enough.

Now a discussion on hole flow vs electron flow and why in electronics current flow is usually said to go positive to negative, although I was taught the opposite in the Navy for some reason.

Welcome to the club!
I’m doing an ecology based design unit with my students right now. On Friday I live streamed a hike with them, pointing out the different plants and what they’re useful for.

Battery terminal size! No way I’d leave a gap like that otherwise
