I want to back up my SMS from my Pixel 2 and then clean out what’s there. I tried one SMS backup app and it created a 7 gb brick of an XML file that I cannot figure out how to access what’s inside. Got any tips?

I think that’s how most of those apps work, save in XML. That’s just text, though, shouldn’t be that heavyweight. the only thing I can think of is it’s also backing up all pics and videos in your SMS threads.

I use SMS Backup and Restore, but have never tried to look at or edit the files.

My god, I haven’t seen 15's on a car for ever...
The other night, daughter wanted to watch Mathilda, in which Danny DeVito and Rhea Pearlman drove an LTD Stationwagon...tires upon which had raised white letters...

People want rubber bands for tires nowadays. Crappy ride quality, quick to ruin if tire pressure is off at all. Dumb.

I’ve got three cars at home with 15s or smaller. Try finding good 14” tires these days, not that easy!

Pity those poor folks driving LeCars with their 13" wheels.

I used to use SMS Backup and Restore, and it always spit out an XML file. The only problem was restoring thousands of texts would sometimes take an hour or more on the new phone, and would display them all as new messages.
Nowadays, I just don’t worry about it. The odds of me having to reference an ancient text message are pretty slim.
