Sure, tying down the hatch with a dog leash is alright, anything goes during the quarantine.

People don’t give a fuck about towing or hauling stuff. You know why? Because there is very little immediate risk to them, if something falls off the back it isn’t going to kill them. I see overloaded or poorly secured trailers nearly every day.

And if it adds wheelie capabilities, it can't be stupid

I see no evidence it worked.

I’m less worried about whether the hatch flies open and more worried about whether there’s anything holding those boards in the van other than friction.

This is deeply infringing on clever in an emergency thinking. Exactly why home delivery exists. That is unchecked stupidity.

I always hate that saying. More accurately it should be, “If it’s stupid and it works, you got lucky”

Not really wheelies, but it helps doing a fwd burnout.

There’s nothing keeping that soil on the tray and t hat tie-down leash is attached to the rear wiper! Isn’t that wiper mounted in the glass? *Quick Google Search* Why yes, it is! That’s a great way to break the back glass.
Hard bump, broken rear window, open hatch, lost soil, maybe lost lumber...

Maybe the good news is this was at the top of an exit ramp. So the highway was safe.

I have to admit, I’m having to fight the urge to get materials to finish in progress projects. I’m not going to do it, but it’s damn tempting to run and grab a yard of mulch and some EMT.
I’m managing to keep myself busy at least, plenty of grunt work to do around the house.

I was headed to hardware store when I took this photo... but for work purposes. Which sucks. Only some people are taking it seriously and our numbers are going to rocket really soon.
Anyway I had to fix this...
we are doing the floor and a hot water heater was attached by washer machine hoses. Originally there was only cold water for the lunch room sink. This is how they added a T. WTF? I tried to remove the washer hose and the lower compression fitting started dripping. Great. Do the job and as they are testing the air I ran to the hardware store and picked up some stuff to make it work. Here is my more correct solution.

Water shut off above sink?
I did make one trip to the hardware store, when the flush handle broke.

And they probably could have fit it all with the seats folded or taken out. I bet there is no more than one seat folded tops.

Maybe I’m the dumbass, but looking at the pipe under the sink with no shut off I thought I’d have to turn the Water off to the whole building. Above the sink, mounted in the cinder blocks was an access hatch and the shit off was in there. This building was built that the water access comes from the top, and drops Dow’s the wall. Being a slab building I thought it ran up from the bottom with no shut off.

That platform on the back is hanging so low. Looks like a bump at speed will be enough to dig it straight into the asphalt. A couple good bounces like that, it’s going to snap that leash and bungee cord, shatter the window, and just make a general mess of stuff.

It’s good that you wrote that, because that’s a weird setup, and if you’re in a panic trying to get water the shut off, you might not think to look up above.
