^current lineup^
I’m 100% satisfied with the bass. Probably my best CL buy ever, and I don’t think I could find a better bass new or used without spending 4x what I paid for this one.
The Mockingbird is a forever guitar. It’s in pretty dire need of a professional setup though. Intonation is screwy, and my attempts to fix the problem made it much worse. Some fret work too (plek’ing didn’t last as long as I expected ). Currently tuned to C standard with 10-60 strings, it still sounds fantastic, if only it was in tune at all positions on the neck lol.
The ESP was a cheap layaway buy from guitar center years ago. It replaced an even cheaper Ibanez RG. Super easy to shred with, but honestly nothing special minus a penchant for beastly pinch harmonics . A lso currently has some wiring issues I keep forgetting to look into. N ot really worth dumping money into in my opinion, I think I would rather have kept the RG based solely off of Ibanez’s wonderfully thin , unfinished necks. I may sell this one, buy another cheap RG, add some bare knuckle pickups and call it good?
Anyways... I ’m almost positive my next ax will be a multiscale guitar made by Ormsby. The only question is do I go with their full multiscale (above) , or the slightly less exaggerated version that has a Floyd rose (below). I’m sticking with 6 string for now either way.
Neon/maple for maximum 80's hair metal?
I’ve been itching for a strat again too. Years ago I had a beauty. Made in Mexico, an orange sunburst with r ear mount electronics and no pick gaurd. Rosewood neck. I’ve never seen another like it, but I’m pretty sure it was all factory. If one popped up I’d have a hard time resisting, especially considering how much of a bargain the MIM Stratocasters usually are.
Barring catastrophe, that stimulus check is probably going towards music gear.

Nice collection.
Its funny, as I was reading this I was listening to the solo of:
Do you have any experience with PRS? That's what all my friend's play. Well, one is into PRS and Jackson, the other is into PRS and Gibson. But we're all crazy metalheads.

And now I have Rainbow In The Dark stuck on repeat in my head.
PRS? Not really. I was never much impressed by their entry-level range, and haven’t played around on their professional stuff for years. Jacksons’ lineup has always felt so strange to me. They all had a thin Ibanez-like neck, but the fretboard was soooooo wide! Felt like stringing a 7string with 6 strings.

Nice guitars. M ultiscale guitars have always interested me, and it would be great to eventually try one. So far though, only 7 and 8 string versions have crossed my path. The necks are too wide on these , and my brain can only process a maximum of 6 strings. The 6 string multiscale has renewed my interest.

Nice collection and it is good to have some passions!
I’m off today and I may go outside and practice, because why not? I haven’t played in two weeks due to work.

Do it! I always dreamed of taking the Miata up to the top of a mountain, and jacking straight into the stereo to play some epic outdoor tunes...

Nice. The Mockingbird is one of those Eighties guitars that I still lust after.
What bass is that?

I’ve spent 5 years saying “I really should get back into playing guitar” and still haven’t. I used to be decent at it, and still have all my gear (in much neglected state) including 160
watts of tube amp heads (100, 50, and 10) and 5 12" speakers (4x12 and 1x12 cabinets
). There just isn’t enough time in a day.

Im a drummer, so I cant comment on the quality, but I know both guys have higher tier PRS guitars and they are beautiful! And I love the sound of them.
Your Mockingbird is gorgeous though! I bet it sounds fantastic. Who are some famous, or not so famous, artists that play them?

I was curious and looked it up and I’m very very sure it’s a Schecter Stiletto-4 Studio.

Slash played them before the Gibson sponsorship! Also Paul Stanley! And Kerry King of slayer, Chuck schydulinear (or whatever his name is) of death, etc...

Yep. Picked up in mint condition for $275 if I recall correctly. Sold by a dad who couldn't get his kid interested
