And by a lot, I mean more than a couple of drinks more. My booze consumption is hitting more than 3 per day. I never drank hard liquor on a regular basis, now, every damn day. I’m not falling down drunk, mind you, just having more alcohol than I usually do. Listening to the news is not helping, at all.

Since I got canned on February 11, my liquor consumption has gone up. Not like “I’m unemployed and depressed” type drinking, but a lot more

I have a no alcohol during the week rule...it’s been a lot more tempting to break that rule lately, but I’ve managed to stick to it.

I find it regulated out a bit more. I used to drink more on friday/saturday when gaming with friends or at parties, but now it feels like I’m tired on the weekends and don’t want to drink but after dinner on a weekday I could really use a good scotch or something....

Totally! Not daily, but I made myself double Long Island Iced Teas last weekend each night. No regrets. In the last week I had to lay-off 15 contract engineers, help rebuild schedules for a 24-7 engineering team, try to convince people to take 30-90 day leave of absence all the while keeping a positive spin on things, maintaining safety and compliance annnnddddd keeping my own spirits up...oh, and they announced today  that we all will be taking a 25% pay cut and working only 30 hours each week through July 1.

I’ve been working from home for years , but now I get all these Johnny-Walker-Come-Lately’s who are stuck in their homes and start video-conferencing me at 3 PM to see what I’m drinking, and then the group video starts at 4 or 5.... .

No...we instituted a house rule last year that alcoholic beverages can only be consumed between Thursday and Sunday, unless we have guests.

It has worked a treat...

Weirdly my alcohol consumption has gone down. It was WAY up when I was unemployed and then stayed up when I was traveling for new work, but now that I’m home all the time I really only drink on the weekends.

Well... usually anyway.  I hurt my hip on a walk today (because apparently I’m an old now) so rather than be productive I’m getting hammered.

Yeah. I haven’ t been much of a drinker. Maybe a couple beers or a bit of scotch a month. Over the last few days, I’ve had a drink by 3p. Usually 2 or 3 a day.

Today I tried a Truly Hard Selzer. Might have been the intervention I needed to keep this from becoming a problem. That shit comes from Satan’s anus, I’m sure of it.

My job is in no way threatened by the virus, we’re not laying off people; in fact, it’s basically a here’s-a-free-few-months-at-work myself and my employees.

I’m still depressed at what’s happening and drinking a lot more.  Partly because bored, partly because we’re all gonna die anyway.

My job involves a lot of drive time, so i listen to NPR a lot. The news is so depressing lately, and having a teenager and a 20 year old at home is not helping. My kids are, for the most part, upbeat, especially my son. He is taking the time off to really learn playing the guitar. He is getting the opening to Round About by Yes down really, really well.

A slight uptick, but mainly because Mrs. Snuze has been home on admin leave and is keeping more booze around the house because she’s more comfortable drinking knowint she’s not going in to work the next day.

That’s never been an issue for me. I used to drink what some might call an “unhealthy amount.” But thats also back when I was in the Navy and that shit was acceptable.

I’m kind of in the same boat. I haven’t been drinking as much now. Last year I would notice that when I drank I started to feel generally crappy for a couple of days after. I don’t get hangovers because I stay hydrated, but I would feel gross. I’ve cut way back. I did have a few beers about a week ago, but since the start of the year it’s been substantially less. I can’t say I’m missing it all that much to be honest.

Honestly, sat this stage I don’t think we will stop flying. If nothing else we are moving cargo. If their is a huge surge in cases due to this questionable government strategy then maybe. A week ago I was certain that we would shut down.

I’m drinking a lot more than I have been since Christmas, but only a bit more than I was last summer/fall. Trying to chill out a bit and not put on weight while I’m off work, but being at home all day makes it hard to not day drink every day.

I usually won’t drink at home, but I’ve had a few ones lately. I’m still cutting off after one beer if I want one just because I know I’m sitting around so much.

I think I’m gonna buy a bike (outdoor exercise is exempt for now) and then I might have......two beers. Maybe. IDK, still not a fan of drinking at home. A beer is nice, but more than tha t just isn’t good when I’m sad to start off with. And hot damn, I am sad.
