Turn it down and enjoy the silence.

Everything counts in large amounts, like toilet paper.

Internal monologue - I’m n ot sure if he got the joke or if he’s trolling me. He’s a smart guy and he’s listening to the band. Surely he gets it! Yeah, he gets it, and don’t call me Shirley. But what if he didn’t get it? Fine, j ust post it, already!

Honestly, I didn’t get it. Sorry. I wasn’t a Depeche Mode fan back in the day (was listening to Led Zep, Doors, CSNY, Uriah Heep, basically rock from the 60s and 70s). I heard one of their songs the other day, and thought I’d play some.

Every time I hear Depeche Mode I think of a lyric from Lifesavas, a song called “It’s Over” and the lyric is ‘so relax and enjoy the silence of Depeche Mode...’
Actual lyric is at like 2:12. Carry on indeed.

I just replied only to say there’s a lyric in a rap song I like, where they say “so relax and enjoy the silence of Depeche Mode”
2:12.
I got it. lol

Carry on, certainly not going to stop you. May I suggest a side dose of New Order?

It’s the official Coronavirus TP/paper towels/sanitizer song:
Some good street scenes of (West) Berlin ~1983/84, too.

The only bumper sticker I’ve ever had was for the area rock station when I was in high school. They played classic rock from the late ‘60s through the ‘7 0s and a little bit from the ‘80s.
But, like ImmoralMiority said , there was that one girl who was into New Wave / Electronic music and she swayed my musical tastes for a time.
