Had to happen. A couple months ago I was thinking they might be able to just switch LA and Tokyo, but clearly I badly underestimated how incompetent our response would be. Today Tokyo looks considerably safer than LA, but obviously neither would be a good option for this summer.

I’m honestly hoping that this will be the final blow to  the travelling shit-show that is the modern Olym pics, and they finally decide to hold it in once place permanently .

I don’t think there’s any need to go to a permanent location. I do think the idea what you need to have all new venues is absurd. Any major world city should have most of the needed buildings already, and frankly if they don’t, it should be taken as a strong sign that the sport really isn’t popular enough to be included. There’s already been reduced interest in the S ummer Olympics though, and nobody is especially interested in the W inter ones, so I think people are finally on to the scam.

I don’t think that will happen, because money. However, I do think what would work is to have perminately designated  host cities on each continent for summer and winter sports.

I do t think that would be good. But the required lists are ridiculous. Just return to what LA did and use student forms and college stadiums. The idea of making a whole sport theme park That only lasts  for 2 weeks is what is nuts.

That’s it exactly, just go to places that already have the facilities. Also, it goes against the egalitarian nature of the games, but they should also go only to cities and countries who can afford to  host them without getting themselves into a major financial strain.
