No, not that.
This. Had a custom shift knob made for my WRX. Cocobolo, because fancy.

That looks great, any price and ordering info? My BRZ shift knob had it’s leather wrap split, I glued it back together but I’m looking at replacement options.

Elihu Savad, the craftsman, was very prompt, courteous and thorough.

Very nice, how does it feel? I've never used a wooden shifter before. Is it weighted inside?

On a positive note, you'll still have it in the morning

Not weighted, but it's substantial . I’ll try to go for a drive tonight and let you know. The parenting is real.

Thanks, a little pricey for me (fair price for normal people, but I’m cheap). Looks great though.

very nice!
kind of related - my wife snuck a good luck charm into my car the other day to protect against the nasty corona stuff , a stone heart. Kinda reminds me of your pic.

Went to the grocery store for some fruit. It’s more direct, almost solid. Still ever so slightly damped though significantly less than the leather knob. I can absolutely feel slop in some bushings which I still need to replace and I can definitely feel the gears more clearly. Basically it feels like going to a lower compliance bushing. When the gear lever clicks into place it makes the familiar sound of wood being rapped.
I enjoy it so far (one drive) but I always enjoy a more direct feel. A wood wheel would be out of place in my car, but I am now curious as to what the sensory change would feel like.

Sounds pretty nice, I'm glad the "woodiness" of it is noticable.
