I went out for a bike ride today and holy shit you wouldn’t believe the amount of people I saw out and about in Malibu. So much for shelter in place! While yeah, I was one of them by being out of the house but that doesn’t mean I had to go crowd up the beach or the popular hiking spots. These people are absolutely dumb to do that. I intentionally picked a nice overgrown trail with an uncrowded spot to park. But anyways, I came home after my nice bike ride and made some snacks. Homemade pretzels and chocolate, chocolate chip, peanut butter cookies. Figure I might as well cook well if I’m gonna be cooped up at home while this virus thing runs it’s course out in the world.
Some shots from the ride:
An aptly named trail. I accidentally rode down part of it and it sure was agony. And by ride I really mean walk 1/4 of the time to get around big washed out ruts down the center of the trail and squeal the brakes the rest of the way. But other than that Detour, the rest of the ride was rather nice.
And of course the obligatory bike rack photo. I still need to post about my adventure yesterday. It was entertaining with breaking the bike right off the bat and hiking instead, but that’s another story. At least on the ride today, no broken bicycle!

I want to say you are a dummy and that isn’t a trail named Agony. It’s a dry creek named Agony. Maybe it’s both?

That'd be a pretty brutal name for a Creek. But the trail crossed paths with the actual tame trail a few times along the way, each time with that label.

I saw a lot of people out in the park today too, but only congregating in their family groups. Best to get out when we can for mental health.

That is far from the most dispiriting name for a creek I’ve seen out West. In fact I can’t remember a single one that didn’t have a name reflective of a hard pioneer life.
Based on your description I’m now pretty sure that’s exactly what it is. Creek signs are sorta like plaques on everything out East only they got weary along the way.

I meant moreso that it was in different valleys and certainly not in the same water source geologically. The actual trail at this sign is perpendicular to that Creek also
