My friend is closing next week. Luckily he and his wife are both nurses so they are pretty secure.

If BestBuy keeps dropping TV prices I may be getting a new 65" 4K set soon...

Not so much about being secure as the biggest investment most people will ever make completely losing value. The market was already starting to bubble. I have no idea how this will affect real estate, though.

Well I’d say “completely losing value” is a bit hyperbole and they are still tied together. Being secure allows you the ability to ride out the storm.

Blooming? I’d say it’s going viral.

I’m not saying this is going to happen, because I have no idea, but my parents bought a house in 2005 for $750k. In 2008 it was worth $300k . Even today, in a strong housing market, the same house is valued at $500k. Definitely not hyperbole. If you can afford the mortgage you’ll be ok, but you pissed away hundreds of thousands of dollars that were supposed to make you money. Better off paying rent until the market drops.

Was that in Florida? The Pennsylvania middle class housing market stayed relatively stable during the housing crisis and rebounded very nicely.

Arizona. I guess as always it is market specific.
