Saint Louis. Of course, there was plenty of other stuff available, but that wouldn't be as photogenic...

I watched an interview with a grocery supplier. He said there’s plenty of food, they just need time to get it delivered. He also said they need people to stop buying a month’s worth of groceries at once. He said to get a week’s worth so that your neighbors could get their groceries too.

If it keeps going like this, they will get caught up and the stores will be full, but nobody will be buying because they will be sitting on their giant pile of TP and won’t need to go to the store.

I think that's sort of the idea. Stock up so that you don't have to leave the house for a few weeks.

People need to stop buying the almond milk I like. They used to stock so much and sell so poorly that it would get put on sale for 50% off. Now there is none. Fantastic

The dilemma we’re facing now is, we have enough to get us through next week, but should we save that in case we find that there are suddenly a bunch of cases locally, and we want to avoid going out to the store? Or, stay away from the store as much as possible NOW, because of the lack of testing/knowledge on who might even be contagious? Then there’s the question of, is the supply even going to be caught up by this weekend, or would it be advantageous to wait so we’re able to get what we want and need? Because soon enough the inventory will be back to normal. People can’t keep buying 2-3-4- weeks’ worth of groceries all that long. A lot of people simply can’t afford to do that!

I don’t know if it’s bullshit but I read that there were lineups at coffeeshops of people wanting to stock up on cannabis. Luckily I can get that stuff mailed to me in Canada, can you do that in the Netherlands?

I haven’t been outside of my home since Tuesday because I have the flu. Before that I was on vacation for 5 days. Which is scary because I traveled and got sick, Thankfully my symptoms don’t line up for Covid19. I wanted to go in for testing but was told “of you don’t have a fever and we can’t test you because we have to save the test kits we have for really sick people.

Anyway I have no idea what stores look like, or what the gas price is. Or if  my town is indeed a ghost town.

The only thing I do know is that before I even got back from my vacation my boss called me and told me that I didn’t need to come in to work for a few days. I work at a restaurant, and bar. I do delivery. He said that Sunday Monday and Tuesday he did less than 300 bucks in sales. To put that into prospective I usually do 5-800 I sales just on my deliveries in a 7 hours shift, not even the whole day.

I feel your pain. I usually buy the meat and bread that's approaching the expiration date  but people are buying stuff so quickly nowadays it doesn’t have a chance to make it to the markdown area.
