Yes I think that will be my winning candidate for 1st V8/street/track car. I already have a Miata. E30s don’t do much for me anymore. I’d feel kinda bad about pulling a rotary out of a RX7. 300 whp/tq would be just fine.

C5 is the right answer here. Arguably better suspension (particularly after a coilover swap) and it isn't that different in terms of size and weight.

That would definitely be the easier option but it doesn’t appeal to me that much.

Around 10k for a base, 15k for a decent Z (like mine) and 20k for a pristine Z with around 60k miles on the clock.

A Z for like 13 14k would be sweet then. Spend 5ish grand on suspension and another 1.5 k on headers cam. (Basically what im doing)

A “ 948"is a relatively common build in the 944 world. The transaxles don’t hold up that well to it though. There isn’t really anything stronger you can use instead, so you either have to accept you’ll be breaking transaxles, drive it carefully, or do some insane work to let you run a normal engine-trans-driveshaft-diff layout. I think that would wind up being like swapping a 944 body onto a C5 chassis or something.

A C5 would probably be the best pick like others suggested, but I’d go Porcshe just because of how different it is.

Here’s the thing, I’m all up for working my ass off on cars but if after that it’s still slower than something that costs the same....whats t he point.
C5 are unbeatable when it comes to value for money so ¯\_()_/¯
