I know the news is all doom and gloom these days, but the battery that expired back in 2004 is still working 10 months later!
Hang in there little buddy!

I use rechargeable and 6 weeks would be a miracle.

I knew my car battery was getting pretty old at this point, so I took it to an Autozone for a free test. Turns out it is 6 years old at this point, and was only rated for 3 years. The be wildered clerk gave it a clean bill of health for at least another year. It is good to see the previous owner shelled out for expensive items like high quality batteries, even if they got it repo’d.

I think the battery in the M3 is original to the car.

A really high quality battery can last a really long time with proper care. But that also means the OEM battery lasted less than 2 years. You would think JD Powah might take note of GM’s crappy initial battery quality.

Yeah, but initially it was great.

What is a long time for a battery?

Mine do at least that long. Expensive batteries in my bluetooth mouse are usually around that, except these weird cheap Chinese ones I picked up a couple years ago that just keep going. I have a couple even cheaper ones that came with my Cherry brand mouse that have been in it since I bought it and they’re still going strong (at least 2.5 years now).

The OE battery in my Volvo lasted about 2 years. Covered under warranty , but still... WTF?

Glad you brought this up. I was just thinking about it yesterday. Pulled my bow out of storage which has an illuminated night sight on it that utilizes a tiny button style battery. Expecting nothing I twisted the knob and was stunned to see it light up. It’s the original battery that came in the thing and I got it somewhere around 1990-1993 or thereabouts.
I also picked up a 40 pack of co2 and a 6k ct of shot for the Daisy co2 pistol. Haven’t touched that since the 90's either. Cycled a full mag to test it. Seals are still good, and dad’s still got it.
15', 15 rounds, rapid fire, as fast as I could pull the trigger.
Sorry kitty.
