We took a 240 mile round trip to snag a steal on a bike for our oldest daughter.
$100 and a $16 fill up to get this beautifully maintained Specialized Sirrus. Needs a quick cleaning as it has some smudges from sitting in storage, otherwise it’s in almost perfect shape.

Fine find! Good on ya. Guy on another boat here bought 5 WalMart bikes fer cheap and came by to see if I’d adjust one of them. When I saw his work I offered to do all 5. Spent a couple 3 hours doing just that yesterday evening . Chatting his kids (native Japanese speakers learning English), chatting other folks here in the boatyard and fixing bikes. 75, cloudy and breezy. Couldn’t ask for more.

Weather was nice, did a little yard work (and I hate yard work). The carpet cards in the boot of my 85 Jaguar have been loose and flopping around for some time so I got them all put in correctly. Cleaned out the spare tire well too. Pretty sure it’s the factory spare which actually doesn’t look too bad for a 35 year old tire.

It’s crazy how good old tires can look sometimes.
Our 66 Buick still had bias ply tires on it when I brought it home. They were still in amazing shape!

It was a lovely night for a stroll, so I did that. Then I came home and watched The Assignment starring Michelle Rodriguez and Sigourney Weaver. It was quite possibly the best film I have ever seen regarding forced complete gender reassignment surgery and it’s impact on the psyche of a killer for hire. Needless to say, I recommend this cinematic gem to all.

It was Mrs. Snuze’s birthday - our dinner reservations were cance led but we found out our favorite local T hai place was open and doing carryout, so I picked up food and a 6 pack of beer and we chilled. It was a good day.

Boat yard in Japan. Are you over in Yokosuka or Sasebo by chance?

I cooked, slacked off, and helped somebody build a character for pen & paper Call of Cthulhu. Also, celebrated my sister’s birthday and got a kayak.

Cancel hotel reservations, pay $400 in cancellation fees. Sit around and be pissed off, went to bed early because there's nothing to do and I still have to be at work at 8.

I bought one of those Used two years ago, my son and mom used it maybe 200-300 miles then sold it for $50 more than I paid for it.
Last night, went for a hike. If I’m going to be stuck here might as well enjoy it.

Sorry, should have been a ? and not a .
But you are down the river from another naval asset with which I am familiar...
It sounds like you are doing well down there and staying safe and healthy. I hope it stays that way.
