I was getting ready to go for a bike ride, and I told my middle schoolers to get up off their butts, leave the computer table, and go outside or, at least, go into the garage and do something. When I left, I discovered they had moved their Switch into the garage. “We did exactly what you told us to do!”
To be fair, the ping pong table is covered with food. And the air hockey table doesn’t really work that well. Still....

I too have a home grade air hockey table that has forever made me sad that it exists.

Yeah, it was a gift from their grandmother years ago, and it worked great for maybe a year and then it just started sucking. A decent floor model isn’t all that expensive. They would probably prefer a foosball table though.

i used to say to my mother, ‘I’m going to a glass of wine’, she’d say, ‘just the one okay!?’.
I’d reply, ‘yes, sigh, just the one.’.

To be fair though, it is March. I don’t know about the weather down there, but it’s rainy and somewhat cold today here in the ‘Burgh. Not exactly outside weather. On the other hand, do they have classwork ? No time like the present to hash that all out, then screw around once it’s done...

We’re in Austin, where it’s cloudy and almost 80 degrees. Bike ride was nice until the sun came out. Possible severe weather tonight. As for school work, they’re on spring break this week, then two more weeks of corona break. The school district is supposed to be working out online lessons, but we’ll see.

Lmao! I can see my boys doing the exact same thing. To the letter of the law, but not the intent. Got to hand it to them, they are working within the lines you laid out for them. I can always appreciate this type of gaming the system. I get a tinge of pride when my boys do it to me.
I’m sure you never did anything like that as a kid ;), I know I never did.... nope.... never :)
Good times.

Very thankful we have a pool. Gets the kids outside and I'm keeping it full up on chlorine.

Well, there’s your problem. It’s not supposed to suck, it’s supposed to blow. Check to see if the polarity on the motor wires got reversed and switch them back.

I have been on an Oatmeal Squares kick for a while now. I have several flavors stocked up.

I went on a bike ride before work today. There is nothing stopping a kid from being outside, except of course for being a kid.

Same here. My bike riding schedule involves dodging the bouts of thunderstorm we’ve been having, but overall I’ve been able to get the miles in. It’s not as hot up here either.
