Fuck Republicans trying to block this bill. There are no good arguments against it, so this kind of thing is all we'll see.

In a sensible world this guy would have had his ass handed to him in the Senate parking lot by his fellow senators of both parties.

How does this moron think people are going to work if everything is shut down?
These idiots realize people are eventually going to start getting very angry if everything is forced to close and working class people are hung out to dry?
This ain’t China.

LOL what would he know about work?
Another personification of American conservative thought from the state that gave us Paul Ryan.

Wisconsin has a proud progressive history, I hate the recent trend of electing ignoramus conservative tools like Walker, Johnson, and Ryan. I hope Evers election is just the beginning of a new trend.

Like progressively hunting Reds?
I joke, kinda. McCarthy is just the only other Wisconsin politician I can name. I will state on the record I am a fan of Wisconsin cheese, beer and movie critics.

Wisconsin now has a much stronger culture of “I got mine so fuck you” conservatism, unfortunately.

I wonder what happened to that history. Well, I know what happened, a certain generational demographic gained undue influence , it happens out here too. I’ll hope for Wisconsin’s sake - if not, their well-being won’t improve.

in a sensible world younger people would get off their asses and vote instead of sitting around bitching about what happens when they do nothing but complain.

Doug Stanhope had the best answer for why things are the way they are:
“Because old fucks vote. ”

so far the working class has been pretty effectively gaslighted into believing the poor are the cause of all of their problems.

Lol... look up Bob Lafollette and the Wisconsin Idea. https://www.wisconsinhistory.org/Records/Article/CS417
Wisconsin is responsible for a lot of the progressive policies that the federal government does have.

Yeah, not so much. We announced that we were paying our hourly employees if they were sick. At one store, they forgot the manager was in their text group - they all started planning when they were going to call in sick to get their 2 weeks of pay for not working. I am sure the same thing is going on where we don’t have visibility. Meanwhile, salaried employees are forgoing their 2019 bonuses (were to have been paid this month, hourly employees got their bonuses in December) to help fund the payments for hourly employees who aren’t working - oh, we also are at work trying to keep things afloat so people actually have jobs to come back to when this is over.
This unnecessary class warfare stuff is part of what’s wrong with the US today.

Oh, I think we were talking about the usual situation where an hourly person works the hours or doesn’t get paid. I know people who will come in regardless because they need their income.

That’s pretty much it. Add in some temporarily embarrassed millionaire syndrome and addiction to ridiculous bootstrap fantasy, and here we are.
