I figured this movie was extremely relevant right now so I spent my Sunday afternoon watching Contagion. It was an entertaining documentary about the current events, man were they good at telling the future! (Spoiler alert) It even started with bats somewhere in China. Matt Damon didnt play much of a role in the movie so it wasnt “The Martian: Corona Virus Edition” unfortunately. But it was an entertaining movie. Sure that virus might have been SLIGHTLY more deadly but still, the main concern was the general public going apeshit and society falling apart. And that is certainly the concern. Yesterday I tried to go to the store and naturally all of the water, bread, and toilet paper was gone. But also I found there was no butter, flour, sugar, nor ramen cups. Most other shelves were also lacking but 100% first world problems since there were still plenty of things to choose from. I didnt really need anything but figured I could use a couple of things while I was out doing some more social distancing.
I saw like a few people though and had to get at least 10 feet within them so idk it was risky. But it was nice to get outside and enjoy some nature. I went to Lake Casitas and this time played the entire round of disc golf. Got in a short bike ride too since I parked outside the gate and biked in to avoid paying the $10 parking charge. Would have been a LONG walk but it was fine on a bike. Then of course I ruined my social distancing by going to the store but such is life, I really wanted some brownie mix!

Who knew that the way to make one of the greatest zombie movies was to get rid of the zombies.

It’s funny how many Oppos have similar interests. My daughter is fascinated by epidemiology, so we’ve seen most of the relevant movies. She’s also been on a Pandemic kick lately. Sure, the game is fun, but it’s almost impossible to win with just two or three players.
There are several disc golf courses around the Baton Rouge area. My son and I have played most of them. The last time we were out, a young guy complimented me on my drive, then told me I could probably throw a lot farther if I replaced my “vintage” plastic. It’s not my fault my go-to driver was stamped before he was born.

How do you like the Archangel? I’ve never thrown one but also tend not to stray far from my wraiths. I do really like the Mamba for something that just goes long and straight without turning

Funny I’m watching “The Talented Mr. Ripley” right now...seems like half the cast is the same as this movie. Is it available online on a streaming service?

Plague, Inc.? https://www.ndemiccreations.com/en/22-plague-inc
I’ve never heard her mention it. I’ll ask when she gets back home.

Are you throwing hyzer flips with the Mamba for straight shots? Just curious because I thought it was a little understable for that kind of shot.

It is the straightest flying disc that I have, thats for sure. All of my other drivers will curve off to the left eventually. Whereas this will tend to fall off to the right. I am not very good at the technical terms of disc golf as to how that relates lol. But I tend to strongly use this one which is why its always the one I am searching in the bush for a while to find.

Yeah I just rented it on Amazon. I was trying to buy some stuff on amazon and get it with credits for free but I accidentally paid to rent it with one click. I gotta turn that setting off lol.

Yup when the corona virus news was in its infancy a month or so ago, the first thing I did was open up Plague Inc while on a plane ride and start a new infection titled “Corona Virus” and started it in China. I was playing on the hardest difficulty so I didnt end up killing everybody off before the cure occurred. But I did get over 70% dead in the world so I surely fucked things up.

Haha that is excellent! I saw this on a few plane rides months ago and had thought about watching it. But just didnt have the time between other movies and a book I was reading. Would have been super spooked if I actually watched this a couple months ago instead of right now. It would have been way too close to reality.

Call me a conspiracy theorist but i always thought movies are a way to warn you about things that are about to happen. Minority report really made me believe that.

I’m terrible at knowing the terminology. I’ll try one out I have been trying to find one that fades to the right at the end

I haven’t thrown in a while and usually go by what has worked before. I think I throw the mamba fairly flat. Maybe a tiny bit with the outside edge down

Ah ok, makes sense. If you want to learn more about how discs fly check out Best Disc Golf Discs on youtube, they have some great tutorials.
