it’s a good thing I don’t have anything to do or anywhere to be today. I did get out of bed to get something to eat a few hours ago, otherwise I've been laying here in bed trying to sleep, yawning, but still awake. Too much caffeine too late at night I guess...

My wife always uses Melatonin and/or benadryl. I’ve never taken the melatonin, but any time I’m dealing with allergies and have to take a benadryl, it always knocks me out.

I always like to take evening walks and I find I am usually more rested when I do. Here’s some relaxing images I took.

Caffeine is messed up like that. It might not give you any obvious benefits like alertness or energy, but it will definitely sit around in the background ruining your sleep. I just had to figure out a time...for me, I can drink caffeine until about 5pm if I plan to go to bed before midnight. Some people can’t drink it after noon.

Others can drink a coke and still have lights out 30 minutes later. (Raises hand)

I’ve started cutting myself off from caffeine at 2. But I go to bed stupid early during the week, too.

I used to be a Ken Anderson Coffee Achiever . I could drink any amounts of the stuff all day long and still sleep. Now, if I have a coffee in the afternoon or evening, I lie awake in bed for hours. Not buzzed or jangled, just awake.

I first learned about that while listening to Weird Al.
“Mom, what’s a coffee achiever?”

It’s 6PM for me, with a 10PM bedtime. Although, with the newborn, basically if I lay/sit for more than 5 minutes I can fall asleep. The rules have changed, due to sleep deprivation

For me the sugar rush/crash cycle hits before the caffeine, so the same thing happens

Whenever I can’t sleep I put on some Ross, I’m done around the 2nd time he cleans his brush. “Just beat the devil out of it!”

I had the same issue last night, went to bed too late due to binge watching, maybe all of the chaos delaying my sleep , then wide awake at a normal workday time today. For some reason, I’m feeling more alert than normal.
