Went for a hike today. Social distancing is easy peasy when nobody else is around. This park, Pitt Polder Ecological Reserve, is simply stunning. I am hoping to plan an overnight canoe trip here in the next month or two. Targa had a blast.

Also, I had mentioned in the comments of another post I had a minecraft realm. That one is just for me, but many people said they’d be interested in a Oppo Realm. Is there interest in that? I think it’s like $10 a month or something, probably USD.

We decided to go for a hike in a nearby state park. So did half the state of Colorado. I couldn’t believe how many people were there. By the time we left, they had set up overflow parking.

Your hike looks stunning , though. Very beautiful spot!

We’ve been running a private minecraft server for the kids for several years. I’m just about Minecrafted out.

Looks like a fun hike. That said, “social distancing” is more or less my typical state so despite not going out any doing anything I’m fairly content with my weekend of not really doing anything . It was a long week.

How cross platform compatible are the realms? Minecraft is on a billion platforms, but with different features. Hell there are two different versions for Windows, and IIRC they aren’t compatible for multiplayer.

I went for a hike with friends to get the dogs out of the house yesterday , and was surprised how many people had the same thought. Honestly, a very healthy way to get the kids/dog/self out of the house at a time when everyone’s probably got a little cabin fever—I was happy to see it.

What a great day eh?

We went up to Gold Creek for a walk down to the North Beach but it was so crowded we backtracked to Allouette Lake and walked around there. It was so windy. I don’t think I’ve ever seen whitecaps on that lake before.

ELI5 what realms are. I have played minecraft before but only ever tried multiplayer about once. I was in some strange world full of art sculptures and didnt quite get it. I tend to build lots of dirt towers and only play in survival mode in that game. My crowning achievement was building a zombie meat grinder in my basement.

Also went to enjoy some nature again today, enjoyable day of disc golf even though there were like a dozen people in the park. Too many for my tastes right now! But thankfully the closest interaction was about 10 feet away lol.

I actually just fired up Minecraft this weekend after a couple year hiatus, I think I still have the java version which doesn’t work with the realms? IDK. I’d take a look around a shared realm if I could though, why not.

I’d be down for minecraft! I used to have a realm but lapsed on paying so it got closed, but it was a lot of fun
