It's even the correct color too! Is it the correct transmission?

I love these little boxes.

Looks great. I’m stuck by how often these really do seem to be the right answer to Jalopnik’s “which car should I buy?” posts. The right combination of modern, affordable, safe, reliable, practical, quirky, and capable.

Unfortunately for all of us on this forum, no, it’s an auto-tragic transmission.

My buddy is not really a car guy. He has very good taste but he's not an Opponaut.

While the blue is nice, the correct color for me will always be Sunset Orange Pearl:

Galapagos Green wasn’t bad, either:

Know how much he paid? I love these things, considered them heavily  as my adventure vehicle.

Eh, a t least he got something interesting, car guy or not. That’s half the battle.

This is actually his second Element. The first one he bought brand new when they first came out. We trucked that box EVERYWHERE. It made multiple trips to Michigan, a trip to Seattle and back, a trip to Allentown then Buffalo and back, multiple camping trips to Red River Gorge, multiple trips to the Smoky mountains in North Carolina, a trip to Omaha and back, a trip to Denver and back, and he lived in the Sierra Nevada mountains for several years and worked at Mammoth. That Element was a jam band and heavy metal show finder and saved our asses from terrible weather, dark and stormy nights lost out in nowhere country and smoky bear law men that never gave us a second glance even though we were riding so dirty!

I highly endorse the Honda Element. They are bigger on the inside than anyone would guess. Comfortable. Great sound systems. And just a fun vehicle. A modern hippy bus.

You’re right.  Orange and green are better.

His first element was the green and he was really looking for an orange one but this blue one popped up and he had to get it. It’s just in perfect condition and checks off all his personal want boxes

I have a personal dream of getting one of those car top camper conversions of one of these with a stick and a supercharger. But just a stock one is neat too.

I’ve always liked those - they’re tempting as a nice mix of daily with some utility but not over the top, also Honda reliability is always an awesome thing.

It is a good thing. I don't understand why these are having a sudden rise in popularity. Maybe Honda will make another one in the future.

I’ve always thought these looked totally different (and SO much better) with the paint-matched fenders. Nice pick up for your buddy!

I’m thinking more geared towards camping and outdoorsy. I believe there was a company that made a Westfa lia style tent at one point - it used the rear sunroof as an entry point.

I used to have a 2007 Element EX in silver and it was probably the car I miss most that I owned. They truly are the Swiss Army knife of SUVs.

Aren’t they? So versatile. So capable.

We went to an outdoor festival that got rained out and we were parked in a field. After sitting for awhile watching everyone get stuck in their big four wheel drives...we decided to make an attempt to leave....we drove right out of the muck and never got stuck.

And there’s so many compartments and room for storage. There was NEVER a time where we had to abandon an essential item because there was no room for it. There was always a cubby or spot to put something we needed for an adventure.

And the fact that the seats fold up and fold flat....we used it to help more than one friend move from house to house or apartment to apartment.

We hauled muddy ass dogs one time and it was a disaster on the inside. But we took a garden hose to the interior and seats and it cleaned right up.

It’s a heroic vehicle!
