There is something really sad about closed racetracks. I remember going here with my dad for an IndyCar race in the early 2000s, but it was closed not long after that.

There was a dirt oval in Louisiana where I was stationed in the mid 80s that shut down because accidents, both contestants and people in the stands getting injured.

This makes me so sad. Growing up I could always hear the cars there on  race weekend

That was a neat oval, too.

Too late to be original.  Not too late to kickstart a youtube channel and buy it outright.

It isn't for sale. A developer bought it a few years ago, and one stipulation was that it couldn't be used for racing due to the proximity to Pocono raceway.

It is a shame that they stopped racing IndyCars there. Nazareth is home to the Andretti family. I would think that they could still pull a good crowd there if they held a race.

I've been to a number of dirt tracks, mostly in North Carolina. With the exception of a few, most of them had pretty questionable safety records.

It was a good track. A shame that they stopped racing there.

The F reedom F actory isn’t a race track per se.

All tracks should be saved.

Even if good taste, and my Albuquerque roots, force me to be on the other side of the Andretti/Unser decide, you have to respect that history.

I would think so too. Close proximity to NYC and Philly.

Who said anything about holding races?  Beside’s that agreement is only in effect with the current owner.

If you want to start a fundraiser to buy a racetrack that isn’t for sale, by all means go for it. I'm not interested.

That first shot with sun faded out by the gray sky, the wear of time on the facility, and most of all....SCOOTER!
