I70 through the western slope of Colorado with the right light and weather nearby looking springlike ominous.
Sights like this in these end of days makes me think it's time for the desert.

Sorry, the desert is full, find somewhere else. If you can’t hang when it’s 120F you can’t hang.

The biggest problem with interstates is I’m always the one driving, and I can’t really look around. There are often interesting things to stop and see, but I’m on the interstate because I’m in a hurry and can’t stop. I’m glad you found some time to stop and appreciate creation a little.

I- 80 through Wyoming feels like driving on another planet, it’s surreal...

Really hoping to do that with the family in June if the insanity dies down. Flagstaff in the summer is amazing, and so close to a lot of cool stuff.
I realized yesterday that all my kids’ travel has been east, not west. They probably think this is just stuff from movies...

Here’s a weird, and reasonably scenic interstate a couple hours north of me (not the best picture since I’m relying on street view) :
As Google says I-93, through Franconia Notch, and the White Mountain National Forest . On the left is Cannon Mountain, once home to the Old Man of the Mountain before it’s collapse, the first aerial tramway in the US, and a ski resort (which dominates the view going south). To the right is Mount Lafayette, which doesn’t look so impressive here, but is the second most prominent peak in New Hampshire, and does look pretty cool when snow capped.
Note also that I-93 is only one lane in each direction here, which is more than a tad odd, and definitely not up to Interstate standards.

I-40 through western North Carolina (from Asheville to Hartford, TN) is also quite nice. Lots of long, sweeping curves.
Also pleasant: I-80 from Colfax, CA to Reno, NV. I-90 from Missoula, MT to Coeu r d ’Alene, ID. I-93 from near Lake Winnipasaukee up through the White Mountains in New Hampshire.

GF was driving, so i got to look around more than usual . this is quite close to home, but i am guilty of ignoring it on a regular basis, usually when the light isn’t so amazing.

One of my all-time favorite stretches of interstate is I-64 East from I-81 in VA. Lightly traveled, and some truly gorgeous Appalachian mountains.
