In Prehistory he talks about this strip and how he sketched Rocky the Flying Squirrel perfectly in his concept doodle, but then struggled over and over to try to recapture the accurate likeness in the real strip. He wasn’t happy with the final result - this is one of those creator-mocking pieces of work.
