I’ve got a big-ass woodshed and about 100sq yds of deck to build - and thanks to COVID-19 I may have plenty of “work from home” time to do it in . So its time for toy shopping.
Got myself a drop saw a month or so back, which I’m already loving compared to a regular circular saw. N ow it’s time to say goodbye to (or at least cut down on) pounding a hammer . I suspect this was one of those “ is it REALLY worth the money to save yourself banging in a few hundred nails? ” purchases, but what the heck, it’s only money. Plus it looks like lightly used ones don’t depreciate m uch second hand, so I can probably recoup most of the outlay later (because of course I’ll sell it, when I’m done, right?) .

Great purchase! I have both a paslode
framing nailer and the trim nailer. Love those things! I put about 6k trim nails through mine recently when we remodeled the basement. We did lath ceiling, 11 out of 10 would not recommend, although it does look great. Only had 2 miss feeds the entire time

That’s a score...
Both of our nailer/bradders are air powered and as much as I’d like a Paslode bradder or finishing nailer...it's hard to justify.

I’d have got a pneumatic one if I had a compressor, but by the time you’ve bought one of those too you ’ve more than paid for the battery one and a year’s cartridges, and I don’t really need a compres sor for other purposes .

I di dn’t spring for the trim nailer - the framer will do 2" weatherboard nails, and I don’t plan to do much that’s more delicate than that.

Nailguns both small and large, and staplers are never a bad idea. I put one row of staples on the vapour barrier in the garage with a staple gun, said hellz no this is bad. I then drove to HomeDepot and bought an air stapler. Life was then good again.
