Okay, so tonight is doner night.
Donner meat, grated cheese and chilli sauce, doner meat topped parmo, doner wrap(with garlic mayo and chilli sauce) , chips and large Coke.

Over here, “Donner meat” might have a very different meaning. Especially at a party.

Thanks. It’s pretty tasty. Though they put pepperoni under the doner meat on the parmo, but I can live with that.

Ye’, another OPPO reminded me of the Donner wagon/family crossing the U.S. in the old days.

Serious question: How much was that for take away?

I have no idea what donner meat is, but that looks delicious.

£18.75, with 15% discount and delivery only £1.50.
I won’t eat it all now, I leave about half and nibble on it or have some for breakfast.

For all that, it’s reasonably priced. Having said that, do they do overnight delivery? Pack it with dry ice and ship it to the states -- I'm really hungry right now!

Doner meat is typically very seasoned lamb but can be beef or chicken.
BaconSandwich is tasty.

You just gave me a great idea. I'm going to make donairs on Friday. (Halifax style, of course).

Lol. No, they don’t do overnight delivery to the U.S.
Though I did bring two back from Mannhein to the U.K. for two Polish friends.

That is a lot of food even for young me that could eat like horse. But it looks good even after my big supper.

Turkish name... Stacks of meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie. Called shawarma in the Arab world.

I don’t eat all of it in one sitting, but maybe half, and then nibble at the rest or save some for breakfast.

Got it. We call that a gyro here.

Ye’, we use the names shawarma, gryo, donner and doner depending on where it’s from (nationality of the take away .
Loosely , a gryo, donner, doner, donair and a shawarma are very similar if not some being the same depending on nationality.
There is a Turkish lunch place that does gryos here.
But many a Greek, Greek Cypriot and many Turkish take aways call them doners or donners.

Mozzarella cheese, with a tangy garlic sauce. Tomato and lettuce are optional.
No idea if the video is any good, but it might explain it better.

Biggest difference there is that gyro meat is minced very finely and pressed onto the spit. Doner/shawarma is sheets of meat layered and trimmed to a uniform diameter.

A doner wrap or kebab usually has tomato, onion, cucumber, lettuce, green and red cabbage with optional cheese, garlic mayo, mayo, ketchup, BBQ sauce, chilli sauce, sweet chilli, etc...
I have tomato, cucumber and onion in my wrap with chilli sauce and garlic mayo. Very tasty.
It also made me happy to hear someone in North America say coriander and not cilantro. Lol.
Though the way he said oregano, made me sad again.

Again, it depends as the gryos above were made from chicken and lamb chunks cut from a spit while the doner meat was minced seasoned lamb pressed onto a spit.
It depends on how your take away chooses to buy it.
There isn’t really a right or wrong way, although the E.U. is trying to ban meat glue, often used to hold chunks of meat together so it doesn’t all fall apart.
