I got a text from him. He heard this news just as he was walking into his hotel room in KC. With so much travel involved, you’d think they would have made that decision sooner.

Yeah, has to be terribly frustrating for him. Clearly not a decision that they wanted to make. I wonder if the NCAA will end up splitting up their television profits to try to recoup losses for the host cities. Refunding everyone’s ticket money is going to be a huge mess, too. People who bought second-hand are likely screwed.
