This, along with 8 ounces of Purell, is what my school district has provided me with to protect myself and my 140 students from the COVID-19 contagion. Also, my colleague was exposed over the weekend at the San Jose Airport.

It’s premium though! Royalty Premier! I’d have thought you’d get prison-grade stuff...
In any event, kids generally seem to do OK with the disease, so you mostly just need to protect yourself.

The TP obsession, both the buyers of it and those commenting upon it, casts a delicious layer of ironic absurdity over the entire event.
I have a theory though: much of the populace buys their buttwipe a four-pack at a time and are constantly going to the store for more, like, every time they run out, which is about every other day. People may change their TP buying habits now. Dead serious.

All of the schools around me (Seattle area) are closed for at least the next 2 weeks. I wasn’t exposed, but I’m now only 2 degrees removed from someone who was.
This is an interesting test of our society.

Seems to be heading that way. Colleges are clearly worried about students bringing it back from spring break.
The first (large private) school closed here just today, due to potential exposure to one of their families.

It’s difficult to overstate the degree to which teenagers and young adults are walking biohazards. I think this entire thing is going to be ramped up pretty well by the end of March. I don’t expect to make it to Spring Break before my school gets shut down.

That is a damn good question, I know my school is working with our Arts department to come up with ideas if/when we close.
As a science teacher my plan current plan if we close is to do the content remotely and just hit the labs when “normal” resumes. That said the Collegeboard hasn’t been too helpful either.

There isn’t much going on in my county right now. Someone who was sick showed up to a middle school volleyball game in the next town over. That entire district closed today to do a deep cleaning, but are reopening tomorrow.
My district has cancelled all PTA sponsored events and outside facility rentals, and any field trips. We have no real plans in place though for “E-learning.”

When you and I chatted before, I was known as O.C.. I’ve rebranded myself now with much less politics. Not that I’m not passionately concerned...
Beware TPDS (TP Derangement Syndrome). There has been endless talk here about people going out and buying up all the TP.
As for stocking up, I did my panic buying early enough to beat the lines, and when my school gets closed, which I think may happen before the week is out, I plan to get caught up on some home repair projects.

Is any co mponent of y our class CAD related? Something like Tinkercad might be cool to let the kids see and play around with, it does have some classroom like features so you can see all their creations.
You could always do a contest with it and offer to print the top x number of projects.

Yeah, we use AutoCAD, but they won’t have access to that at home. I can only count on them having their chromebooks which won’t run CAD, nor are they allowed to install any apps on their chromebooks.
