This is the new !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . For those unaware, RUF is classified as a manufacturer, with its own VINs, but traditionally they’ve used Porsche bodies-in-white and other parts to assemble their cars. Not the SCR though.
It looks like a retro-fied 964, a la Singer, but it’s actually a carbon fiber monocoque in the middle with front and rear unspecified metal (aluminum maybe?) subframes and a steel roll cage. The body panels are all carbon fiber, and the lighting is all LED.
Other highlights include a listed weight of 2756 lbs, multilink suspension at all corners with pushrod-actuated remote reservoir coilovers, and a 4.0 liter normally aspirated water -cooled flat six making 503 hp, redl ined at 8800 rpm. It’s also very green, with plaid seats. The interior floor is bare carbon fiber with very fancy floor mats on top of it, the pedals are titanium, and the spoiler out back is a fixed duckbill style piece.
Here are a bunch of pictures in some kind of vaguely artisinal feeling warehouse type space.

a 4.0 liter normally aspirated air-cooled flat six making 503 hp, redlined at 8800 rpm.
That is INSANE! ~ 126 HP/L is incredibly power dense for any normally aspirated engine, but for an air cooled one? This is sorcery, I tell you!

A porsche of that body style without Fuchs just looks odd to me.

Actually, I need to correct that, that carbon fiber piece behind the alternator looked like some kind of fan shroud to me but actually it’s a water cooled motor.
So...it may or may not be related to the GT3 4.0 motor but it’s similar performance.

I like it, but as with most Rufs, those wheels look huge. Just n ot a fan of the Hot Wheels look.

A question: is it perfectly legal for any automaker to completely replicate the design of another automaker’s car?
I’m sure RUF and Porsche have a long-standing agreement, although this is a change from their past of modifying Porsches bought off the factory line.

A famous and popular tuner/manufacturer like RUF should be able to work out a deal for Fuchs to make them an order of Fuchsfelges in a big enough size to clear modern brakes.

I was going to say, the only N/A motors I know pushing that kind of power are the Ferrari 4.5L V8 in the 458 Italia, and the GT3 RS 4.0. I would guess it is, or is related to, the GT3 engine.
Regardless, it’s a really awesome car, and that green is gorgeous.

Depending on the model, some RUFs are modified Porsches but more often than not they buy raw bodyshells from Porsche and fully assemble the cars themselves. I’m not sure the specifics of the agreement, but one would think if Porsche is ok selling the bodyshells directly to RUF, they’re ok with RUF selling cars that look like Porsches.

I'm thinking if someone tried this with a Ferrari, they'd be getting a visit from the Mafia and a whole lot of lawyers in a very short period of time.

It is interesting, with all the 4.0s in the Porsche line now, that they long ago trying to get there on air-cooling.
One surmises the design margins aren’t as good... I wouldn’t attempt Arizona in August.

Did you notice that it has fancy flush mounted door handles? They are likely made of something very expensive. I’m pretty sure that I cannot afford those.

Singer’s latest cars have a 4 liter air-cooled engine cranking out 500 horsepower.

That is incredible. It looks like they are getting a lot of help from Hans Me zger and Williams Motorsports to make it happen. They are really pushing a lot of boundaries for what can be accomplished on a naturally aspirated, gasoline fueled, street engine.

Ah, good point, but Porsche was making money selling shells to RUF - maybe RUF pays some licensing agreement to build their own replica.
From Superformance’s website:
Licensing Agreements with original manufacturers adds credibility and value.
The Coupe is licensed by Carroll Shelby and is SAAC registry eligible adding to its re sale value.
The GT40 is licensed by SAFIR GT40 Spares LLC as a continuation GT40 and is registry eligible.
The MKIII is built under license from Carroll Shelby and is the only
reproduction of this kind which is built under this license.

Titanium pedals? That seems like overkill. Usually only see that in really high load cases or extreme temps. Then again, overkill is probably the whole point.

I’m assuming they were chosen for weight savings and/or “look at these neato titanium pedals” reasons.

If they can go to all of this trouble, why can’t they put the engine in the middle where it belongs?

Split spokes kinda don’t work often, though. Not here, certainly .
