A friend of mine has a 1991 Taurus SHO so we took it out for a drive to let the Yamaha V6 scream! This one is straight-piped too so you really hear it.

My BIL had a Sable with the Duratec engine and at the time, I was shocked by how fast it was.

I sir; yes, I’m fascinated by those First Gen SHO’s.
My theory is that any engine a Japanese motorcycle manufacturer breathed on is worth taking a listen to... (Toyota 2ZZ, Volvo B8444S...)

Pretty much any time that a motorcycle manufacturer makes a car engine; magic is bound to happen. The 130-HP 1.3L Suzuki G13B is another example of this.

I owned a 1992 SHO with the 5 speed manual many years ago. The car was a beast. With a tune the stock engine makes power to over 9000 rpm . My car needed a couple clutch replacements in its lifetime due to the high rpm gear banging. But it was worth it..!! The car had 220k miles on i t when i i final sold it. Still ran like a champ.

I saved a 94 SHO in that dark green for $600. Beat the shit out of it for 2 years until the underside slowly became one with the salty New York upstate roads. By far my favorite car next to the Beretta Z26
