I ain’t even care about topic, star for Costanza.

I always loved Seinfeld (I saw the later years when they aired, but saw all of them in syndication). The kicker for me was the Kenny Rogers Roasters episode because I had worked there for 2 years in high school. So a couple years later when the country’s most popular show dedicates an entire episode to it, it owns your heart forever.

Just insane. Guess whose job security depends greatly on the price of oil...?

I actually noticed the price today heading down 412. And boi, didn't expect to see 1.88.

If they Saudis keep it up, be on the lookout for $1.50.

Yeah...

It's insane now - the panic is causing more damage than the disease.

Scary times all around. My role is tied to the broader economy, but coronavirus is pretty much destroying the broader economy. In a bank, it only takes one bad loan out of 100 to potentially take down the company. Right now we’re trying to get a handle on where the initial pain will be felt — retail, supply chain, etc

As of this morning, it’s E&P...and we have a pretty big book of E&P borrowers you would probably recognize (we culled most of our weaker, riskier OFS companies during the last downturn, but some are still around)

And as fate would have it, I’m the guy who collects the quarterly list of loss projections for a $500B portfolio and the deadline is today. A perfect day for oil to drop 30%.

If I’m not around much for the next few days, this is why. Oh, and the chair of our Board of Directors was publicly forced out today, which is always nice. /s

We’re still very stable, but there’s definitely political unrest.

I would assume you’ve heard the local news the last day or so. Uhh. This is how the region gets infected. Some rich assholes. Great.

Ha! So, interesting thought this morning: if oil prices stay this low, many producers in the Permian will turn off the taps, which means associated gas will go away on the supply side , which might mean that natural gas prices will rebound...

They had the best fast food chicken, too, way better than KFC. Too bad they grew too big, too fast and crashed. In this country, anyway, I know they're still really successful in Asia.

There’s reports that firearms sales to Asian-Americans specifically are spiking, out of fear of ignorant reprisals. Which, considering that some people are confusing the virus with a Mexican beer, is probably not too farfetched.

Isn’t this it?

One market hasn’t yet been harmed:

https://www.seattletimes.com/business/real-estate/amid-coronavirus-concerns-seattle-homebuying-frenzy-continues/

Which is amusing as many sales come from unvetted residency-purchasing “investors” from a certain part of the world. This is an even more appealing escape route now, I guess.

I feel like they got knocked off by Boston Market in a lot of places, and the market just wasn’t really big enough for two quick-service rotisserie places.

This was before grocery stores all started selling rotisserie, so that competition didn’t help, either. But I can vouch for the quality, it was behind the scenes, too. It was run more like a full service restaurant.

Could be - and Boston Chicken, as they were then, went through their own financial problems, too.
