Apple TV to HDMI splitter to an HDMI to component adapter to the mixer and then to the receiver. I wish either the Apple TV or monitor had an audio output. That box from Amazon that #%^* USPS didn’t deliver today was supposed to solve this mess - 4x2 matrix HDMI switchbox with audio output.
I guess I could have hooked up to the 26" TV in the room but that would actually be a step down in resolution and difficult to see (it’s tucked away in a corner). I might as well move that one upstairs since I haven’t used in it ages here in the home office. And then that leaves the 40" that I bought for the bedroom as surplus.

Doesn’t hdmi handle audio too? Or did the amp not have hdmi input?

Every TV should have an audio out. And one that actually works acceptable, my parents’ 55" TCL has one, but for surround output it introduces horrible lag (they don’t seem to notice, but I can’t stand it). And there’s no option to delay the video to correct for it.

The issue is that this is in my home office and I’m using a 27" monitor, one that doesn’t have any audio functions or pass-through. I miss my old 23" LG - it had audio output that could be routed to an amplifier.

HDMI does handle audio , but this monitor doesn’t have any audio functions. The receiver I’m using is older and doesn’t have any HDMI ports. This is in my home office, and multiple audio sources are routed through a mixer so that I can have computer and TV audio simultaneously through the same stereo.
