I got a battery for the long dead watch I used to wear in middle school and it still works.
I’ll have to wear it some now. What’s usually on my wrist:
While we’re on the subje ct of watches, if anyone knows where I can find a day-date with a Buckley dial, let me know I’m looking for one.

Does the compass actually work?
Also, how many watches to you own? I have five , but only three that work.

When it’s calibrated, it does work.
I’ve got five including that Timex. Besides the two pictured, I’ve got a Breitling Aerospace that was my grandfat her’s, a Tag Heuer that I got for college graduation, that’s currently being repaired, and a Russian watch a friend gave me last year. I can’t really have more two cars, and since watches fit in drawers, I’ve been shopping for them recently.

The Timex will keep better time than the Rollie, and no one will think it’s a fake.

That bottom Rolex is gorgeous.

For real, which is why I’m searching for one. I turn 30 this year, so I was going to get one as a 30th present to myself, that is, if I can find one.

I like watches, but I haven't worn one in like twenty years.

Do you still have that Seiko scuba watch?

That’s fair . After 10th grade, I didn’t wear one again until I finished college.

I do, but it’s dead. If you recall, it was dying in CA last summer. I took it to a watch guy, and he said to wear it until it stops working at all, because the movement can’t be replaced. It sort of runs, but it doesn’t keep time at all. I replaced it over Christmas with this Seiko SKX. It’s not as big on the arm as it looks in this photo. I really like it.

I can certainly admire them, but I'm more interested in firearms, musical instruments and hand tools.

How much did that set you back?

It was about $33 5. Might be a bit cheaper elsewhere. It’s my understanding that Seiko has discontinued this model after many years. It’s automatic (self-winding) , so no batteries, and it very accurately runs one minute fast per day. But I read that’s common with automatics. I might swap out the black band for something silver. It’s a nice look.

It gains a minute per day?

If you haven't browsed StockX yet you should they have a decent rotation of available Rolexs and they come with authenticity guaranteed

We’re watch buddies, my ‘DD’ watch is the same Timex Ironman Triathlon I’ve worn since I got it in Grade 9! Looks a little bit rough after wearing it every single day for this many years, but still works perfectly!

Compass seems to work, I don’t think I calibrated it correctly; I’ll have to dig out the owners manual and see if I can figure it out.
