Apparently that’s a thing. And the Industrial Design Society of America is doing a bunch of events and shit today. To celebrate, here’s possibly the most-boring, wordless video of some design process of the BMW 7er.

And since I have to speak and present to a bunch of students this evening at the newly-formed IDSA Student chapter in Austin, I need to do a quick sketch demo.

Has to be done by 1100 CST. I was thinking Polestar. Less than an hour... GO

Yup.

IDSA is making a big push this year. They broke up the TX/South chapters, and Austin now has our own chapter (which makes sense, since Austin’s about the only place with real ID firms and designers), and we kicked off the new UT student chapter yesterday. I’d say it’s about time, except I’ve only paid for membership in the years that I’ve gone to the national conference, and only when employers have paid for it, and now that I have to... I’m still not convinced it’s worth it. But, hey, they asked me to be a part of their “professional roundtable,” and I guess I’ve been doing this a while, so I’m not gonna say no.
