Two sets of industrial shelving from a manufacturing facility that was closing down. 8 feet wide, 6 feet tall, and 2 feet deep, rated to over a ton (allegedly). I bounced up and down with my feet on the bottom shelf at the middle and there was zero perceptible flex. Of an original 8 when they posted the ad five days ago they had two left. $40 each. I purchased both, one for my garage and the other for my brother’s workshop. Good buy.

I see an 8-person Air BnB listing.   Cosmo Kramer is your host.

Very nice. Those are $300 -4 00 a piece depending on which company has slapped their label on it. Probably my absolute favorite shelving units out there for small to mid-size areas, and I've tried a bajillion

Book his Air BnB and then cancel the night before.  That’ll teach him!

Great find! Old steel shelving units are awesome. I got a couple sections from when we did a major renovation at the marina where I was working. Lots of older units got tossed aside in favor of shiny new and people were clambering over each other to get them. I still have more shelves than I need, the whole shelf was steel and they are seriously rugged. I couldn’t let them get recycled!

Ooo, that is a nice score. The kind that makes you almost want to build an addition to put them in.

I’ll have room for it along the back wall once I do some rearranging. Just didn’t have time for it this evening.

Your post inspired me to see if I could grab some shelving before leaving Houston. So, I hopped onto Craigslist. SCORE!

Kinja'd!!!

Hmmm, no price. so, I sent him a message last night asking for a price. He responds by asking me to call. Fine. Whatever. I gave him a call.

Turns out it’s an electronics company that has a side business selling other random stuff like shelving. The shelves aren’t available any more, but he has some new ones he’d love to sell!

Classic bait-and-switch. :/

That is a good score. Reinforced joints, I did some research on those a few years ago for work. I don’t doubt the 1 ton rating.

We just ordered similar shelves for the plant: If rated for a ton, they went for $650
