We, the undersigned teams, were surprised and shocked by the FIA’s statement of Friday 28 February regarding the conclusion of its investigation into the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 Power Unit.

An international sporting regulator has the responsibility to act with the highest standards of governance, integrity and transparency.

After months of investigations that were undertaken by the FIA only following queries raised by other teams, we strongly object to the FIA reaching a confidential settlement agreement with Ferrari to conclude this matter.

Therefore, we hereby state publicly our shared commitment to pursue full and proper disclosure in this matter, to ensure that our sport treats all competitors fairly and equally. We do so on behalf of the fans, the participants and the stakeholders of Formula One.

In addition, we reserve our rights to seek legal redress, within the FIA’s due process and before the competent courts.

I think the letter was drafted by Mercedes and then sent to everyone except Ferrari and Ferrari associated teams, so that was by design.

Imagine being an Ferrari fan and an Astros fan in 2019...

Not that I would know anything about that.

I was a Ferrari fan from the Lauda and Villeneuve days, but dropped that after 1995. A quarter century later and ‘Fuck Ferrari’ is still my motto when it comes to F1, although I make an exception anytime  Räikkönen is on a team.

Seriously! I think the same thing when they talk about the hybrid engines “Formula 1 has to be environmentally conscious.” GTFO! F1 is the most excessive/ wasteful /villain funded m otorsport there is. Gimme my loud cars back!

Thankfully both teams lost in 2019.

2017* was another story.

T he Astros faced quite a bit public backlash and some actual consequences, sort of. Ferrari basically gets off.

I can only imagine the outrage if either team won in 2019.

Yeah, they’re so obsessed with the exhaust from cars running in circles while they ignore the horrific carbon footprint of all the support vehicles and the massive chemtrails from the cargo planes. Merc is right, governance should be open and transparent (and fair), but it never has been and never will be, and Merc only bitch when those hidden decisions go against them.

Since I’m not a F1 fan, what did Ferrari do?

Thats the whole thing, no one really knows. Last year Ferrari was noticeably faster in the straights than any other team.

Red Bull asked the FIA to clarify something in the Fuel Flow rules before the USGP, and right after they do that Ferrari’s speed advantage dwindles noticeably. Max Verstappen (driver for Red Bull) famously accuses Ferrari of cheating .

A few days ago Ferrari and FIA reach a “settlement” behind closed doors ; the terms of which are not made public.

So basically the teams want to know what Ferrari did  that made them so much faster. Is it actually cheating?

There is a theory that Ferrari exploited a loophole in a gray area and FIA wants to keep it quiet so other teams don’t try it. The more likely theory is that its just plain cheating.

If Ferrari did cheat then the other teams will want to make sure Ferrari is properly punished and the scandal isn’t swept under the rug.

Starting in 2014 fuel limits were set on 100kg/hour

the two rules

1) fuel flow is measured in the tank and limited.

2) you can’t modify/limit alter the rate from the tank to engine

The rumor was a second pump and/or resevior used so that extra fuel could be built up in the line during cornering for an extra spurt during wot

“ I’m gonna give you a fuel line that’ll hold an extra gallon of gas.”

More fuel, more power, more speed down the straight. I like it.
