This Metro ‘vert has been sitting at a seasonal residence a few doors down from me for as long as I’ve lived here. The owners are only there three weeks a year usually and the car has never moved. In fact, it was last inspected in 2004. It’s always been covered but the cover failed this winter to reveal that it’s in surprisingly good shape for a car that’s been stored outdoors for this long. The paint is still glossy and the top fabric seems to be intact.

My first car was a Metro so I have a soft spot for these.

If you don’t see them often try sending them a letter saying you live next door and are interested. I once tried that with a Porsche 356. Late 90's maybe . No dice, but I tried!

I already have a motorbike and a Jeep  that aren’t getting fixed up as quickly as they should . I unfortunately couldn’t take on another project.

This reminds me of a car a friend of mine had. When I first met him, he had a Dodge Shadow convertible.

Last I saw him, he was driving a brown-ish yellow Geo Metro.  I bet he’d love a car like this.
