...He felt the other dealership was trying to scam him into buying a cabin air filter after they previously tried to sell a cabin air filter to another one of their customers. He then came to us so he could record the filter being removed from the vehicle to see if it was really dirty or he was being scammed

They pulled the cabin out and it was absolutely shot. The customer then called the other shop he accused and apologized

Gal rolled in with it. They’d had a leak in the vacuum system for the wiper cover, so they disconnected the line from the fitting on the intake runner and put another short piece of hose on it with a BB in it. It was running a little rough, but had no pickup. I suspected the vacuum advance diaphragm. While pulling the air cleaner off, with it running, I said, “What’s this open vacuum line on the intake” while reaching for it. She said, “We stuck a metal ball in there to block it off.” as my finger touched it and the motor ate that BB like Pacman gobbling balls. It got a few more revolutions in after I yelled, “SHUT IT OFF NOW!”

Head and valves were fine. The hammered BB was laying on the piston. Thank god they were forged. I did not replace the piston. It lost no compression. I warned her about it possible getting hot spots on it and potentially melting bits at the edge, but she wanted to retain to originality...

My favorite comment so far. Makes me feel better about my Jeep’s transmission that feels like it’ll never be done.

My buddies father brought his old Corvette to a shop when we were 17. It’s still at the shop, waiting to be worked on. I’m 30 now lol.

I hope that drum brake is for a drum-in-hat parking brake setup, ‘cos those shoes look utterly impotent.

Yes! Albeit with a peppered past and they were only reintroduced in 2017, so not very long. Taco Bell exists in over 25 countries.

In cases like this I don’t understand why you wouldn’t safely attach the frame/stabilize triple tree and front wheel and hoist it up vertically until all the water is drained. All of 30 seconds probably.
