Not bad.

There's a Model X around here that has a similar black/purple thing going on.

The more I see the Model 3 in the wild, the more I like it.  This color is awesome!  I’m assuming vinyl wrap?

Agreed. It's a genuinely nice design. And yes, wrap

Great color, but still such a homely car. It doesn’t have the length to pull of f the sleekness of the Model S, but it’s a lot better than the blobby, awkward X.

It’s not TERRIBLE, it just looks like a generic late 90s concept sedan or something.

I'll see if I can get the chameleon purple land rover...

My coworker is getting one delivered tomorrow - in white, because he didn’t want to pay for any of the other colo rs. How much does it cost to wrap a car these days? Sounds like a pretty good option to stick it to companies who nickle and dime you on things as simple as the color of the car.

I realized a few weeks ago... when discussing the Subaru S209 STI...

Model 3 Performance is the NEW juggernaut that the WRX STI was 15 years ago...

and SO much better looking.

The only things I wish were different... wish it had the same liftback hatch that Model Y will have, and similar to Model S. Why a trunk?

I wish there were a 2-door coupe, 2+0 or 2+2, with said liftback hatch, and proportions closer to the Ferrari Roma, if not something futuristic like i8.

Maybe a folding hardtop like Miata RF, Portofino, or others. (not Ferrari level or expense. Roadster 2 will likely be that sort of supercar-expensive ...)

I am talking Model 3 level... something within the realm of affordability...

Something to flip the script on Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, Lexus RC, Supra, infiniti Q-whatever... that isn’t a sedan.

I haven’t seen the orange roof phenomenon in quite a while. Goes great with the green wrap.

What's the deal with that? I see it pretty frequently

It has something to do with Telsa's UV protectant used on those massive glass roofs. Something about it causes moisture to refract light, making them appear a color.

Interesting. For all the issues—minor and major—people sure can't seem to get enough of them. I guess it's no worse than what you get from plenty of other major manufacturers though.

I think the only issue with that idea is that as-of-now there's still not really any sort of mod community for electric vehicles, outside of an incredibly small group. I'd imagine that will change with time, and am very much looking forward to seeing how performance will be pushed.

“ It’s not a bug, its a feature!”

Not really a problem, since it doesn’t hamper rear or forward visibility and also looks cool.

I feel like Tesla’s design language has gotten a bad rap based solely off of the large baggage the company brings with it. Well... Excluding the model X. Props for sticking to the design language, but uh... Didn’t work very well.

I like that t he model 3 has a cohesive design to it, even if it is somewhat minimal. It looks almost sculpted, that is to say every minor detail really taken in as a whole to work with the overarching design—one area where I think it beats even the sleeker Model S. And no, I’d agree that i t’s not particularly sleek, but I don’t think it has to be. The M2 is about as sleek as a brick wall, yet I’d argue it’s BMW’s best design in at least a decade.

Speaking of BMW, audi, Mercedes, the Japanese brands, and everyone else who makes a Model three competitor (ie sedan in the 30-45k range), most of them seem to be overstyled messes. Civic and 3 series being good examples, with Audi's shifting design language also not doing any favors. Alfa and Acura sure are looking good though...

No clue, but I definitely think he should go for it! I've always heard good wraps cost close to as much as good paint jobs, for what it's worth.

*looks cool depending on car color! What if I wrapped my Tesla orange, but a slightly different shade??!

a Purple Tesla would look worse, since that is well known to be one of the worst color combos. The best? (other than red and black) Green and yellow!
