Kinja'd!!!

I feel like the lady on the ground being ran overed right now.

I just finished my first phone interview. I slept poorly last night. My computers are all malfunctioning thanks to a Microsoft update (beware KB4535996). I still have nervous jitters. Yet somehow, the interviewer is openly considering me for the next phase!

I forgot how exhausted I get from interviews, especially the first ones. Hopefully, tomorrow’s phone interview with another company will be better.

In the meantime, enjoy these amaze- balls photos from the 2020 Track Cycling Championship.

(going to go take a nap)

Good luck, half of my company got let go  last month and they finish out this month so almost everyone around me is interviewing. (I survived but still considering other opportunities)

Good Luck!

Man are interviews exhausting - I had 5 30 minute skype interviews in a row on Friday.  2 and a half hours of this.  I wanted to pass out after!

I think I ’d rather suffer a non-fatal stab wound.

It was rough - the position is a relocation for me. I interviewed another place out there and they flew me out for a couple days. This one wanted to do video interviews.

I’ve done 4 hour long in-person interviews before and this was way worse.

Interviews, really the hiring process in general is terribly stressful. Good luck.

Track cycling is intense and amazing to watch. I’ve looked in at Velonews occasionally to see how the cham pionships are coming.

What kind of job are you interviewing for?

I hate interviewing; who doesn’t? The last half a dozen I attended were purely dog and pony shows and I never had any real chance at the job. Besides: now, I am too old to be seriously considered for any real  job. If I had a Class A license and wanted to drive concrete mixers, I might be able to be considered.

Yeah I know I’m safe, but some things have been handled....poorly. M orale is pretty low around the company. Including an email from the CEO/Owner saying basically “ hey guys, I know a lot of people just got let go, but you gotta get your work done, we still have deliverables to meet.” That’s paraphrasing, but you get the gist. Was a shit email to send when you fired people who worked for you for over 15 years.

These things happen in advertising. Especially with major automotive clients. All it takes is a cheaper option in another company and they’re gone.

We lost around 50% of our billings because a major auto company said our work was great but another company is doing it cheaper, so they get the work. There will be a drop off in quality I’m sure of it.
