It’s a short explainer about monocoque and semi-monocoque construction and how seemingly minor damage may be underestimated.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
My first thought was how this might apply to cars. In unibody construction, there are areas which could be described as semi-monocoque. I think the roof and from the C-pillar back would qualify. Vans and SUVs should qualify as monocoque from the A-pillar to the rear doors. They’re basically a big squared-off tube. The floor might be arguable, but I guess it would depend on the vehicle.
What does Oppo think?
