Nope, although I’ve heard that it’s more difficult for trucks, since CT and many New England states require combination or commercial registration for pickups, and there is no such provision for classics. But basically you can’t run a Classic plate on a work truck, so it better not be seen with a classic plate and a bed full of anything that looks like work.

Interesting. Here (Ohio) and where I used to live (PA) there were pretty heavy restrictions on classic/antique registrations, mainly that you are only permitted to use them for leisure to/from shows and shops. A lot of people don’t follow that and nobody seems to care, but it’s one of those things where I choose my battles and that’s not one I want to have so I just have regular plates on everything.

Same here in MI. According to their respective build dates, m y car just turned 25 last week and my truck will turn 25 in April, but they’re both keeping regular registrations and insurance because of thos e restrictions .
