I find the current 5-series reasonably attractive, albeit a bit overstyled compared to its F10 predecessor. But it looks fantastic in green and seeing this one made  me wish there were more green cars on the road.

I really thought BMW had dropped down to like 4 colors. This looks great, but I’m still trying to process it. My brain is still giving me a “does not compute” for any Bimmer from the past 15-20 years.

Or Mercedes... for example, my C63 (specifically, the 507 edition) literally did not come in colors. Mine is black. I’ve seen a white one, and a picture of a silver one. Those were the only choices.

For the 63, that doesn’t surprise me. I don’t think I’ve seen any 63 (R, C, E, or G) that wasn’t silver or black.

Even the everyday 350 models, seeing green is very rare. Red, not so much, but still a welcome change.

My dad had a 198(7? 6? ) TransAm that was green. Top half was one shade of green the bottom half was another. Unfortunately I dont have pictures .

You could get a normal C63 of that generation in red for certain years and midnight blue for certain years, but I’ve only ever seen one of each--I test drove a red one and saw a blue one listed for sale. At least with BMWs you occasionally see a red, blue, or yellow M car!

Mine had a green MGB before I was born—something lighter than BRG, but still tasteful. He and my mom used to do rallies in it, and later did the same with the extremely brown Scirocco that replaced it.

Other than the lower front fascia having a few creases too many, what’s overstyled about this? It’s a pretty basic design to me...

I didn’t say it’s overstyled compared to every other car on the market, I said it’s attractive but “a bit overstyled” compared specifically to its immediate predecessor. The chrome plastic mirror caps , tacked-on fin behind the front fenders, hideous two-tone wheels , whatever you call that thing that runs along the top of the headlights, and chrome bumper inserts are all subtraction by addition over the F10 design . Well, maybe not the chrome bumper inserts, those actually aren’t bad paired with the chrome kidneys on a dark color like this.
