While I was waiting to pick up my car with its newly installed tires, I saw this straight 6 engine sitting there. The only identifying numbers I could make out were “IF 8.28.92".

What is this?

Looks like a regular ol’ Jeep 4.0L

That was going to be my wild guess. When those first showed up in the late 80s, they were very strong for their time.

Are you sure?  I think it may be a Lampredi out of a Ferrari 735 LM
