After the runaround from Buick on a TourX, no good deals from Jeep, and refusing to get another Cadillac of any sort (when your sales guy leaves and his replacement neglects you...), the local Toyota dealer came through and I am very happy with this. Can’t wait to make some tasteful bolt on modifications and go off roading and camping. And get my boat out of storage!

Yup, 5... The fuel economy leaves much to be desired but Costco gas is cheap...

Congrats! I enjoy mine, it’s been a good vehicle for us. It’s not perfect, but I expect it to last a long time!

5 gears still. They also use the older V6 compared to the Tacoma

My guess is probably that Toyota dealers are more interested in moving product... When there’s several vehicles that’ll suit my needs, and one dealer is actually interested in making a sale, they’ll get my business. I think most of the Big 3 dealers here in Metro Detroit are just lazy with all the employees and their direct family members keeping them afloat.
The amount of dealerships within a 30 minute drive from my home is staggering... 20+ of each of the big 3, easy.
That or maybe David Tracy’s masochistic approach to Jeeps has inspired many to look at more reliable options...

The regular TRD Off Road. It’s also a 2019, which I’m sure they were happy to get off the lot.

This may mean dealerships have a glut of used Fiesta STs

Seems all my clients looking for cars either want Highlanders or 4-Runners..... and of course F-150's.

My 2019 gets 19mpg with 33x12.50r17 tires on it. Sometimes I get 19.8 but it's good mileage for a body on frame suv.

It’s good, but not as good as the 2GR in the Tacoma that can run Atkinson cycle for efficiency.
The 1GR does have dual VVTi which I personally would like on my toyota v6, but mines from the 90s so no such luck

You were potentially going to get a GM or a Fiat? To each their own, but I think you did yourself a solid with the T oyota.

I’ve owned VWs most of my driving life, Chryslers , Cadillacs, and now the Toyota. At this point in my married, near midlife dad phase, cars tick boxes for function and need to be an expense in a given range... it’s kind of demeaning but so is adulting in general. ;)
