The 2020 Blazer RS is Chevy’s attempt to inject some vitality and style into the most boring, yet fastest growing car segment today—the two row crossover. Let’s find out if it’s any good!

Kinja'd!!!

Recently I had the opportunity to test out a 2020 Chevrolet Blazer RS for a week. I kept hearing reviewers say this was the “Camaro of crossovers,” but I was quite skeptical. I wanted to find out for myself, so I took it on a little road trip. Does this Blazer RS really have any Camaro DNA? Is it fun? Is it a vehicle that you’d want to live with every day? If you have a few minutes to spare, check out my video review below.

What do you think about this latest generation Blazer? Is it deserving of the Blazer name? Do you like the styling? Are you sick of crossovers like most car enthusiasts? Do you wish this was available in brown with a manual transmission?

Whatever that thing is, Blazer  is a misnomer.

Also known as the Jeep Cherokee syndrome.

Seems like it’s a pretty good car overall. I wish torque vectoring was more common in cars, it seems like an easier way to dial in handling in a time where cars are becoming larger and heavier.

As for the name... the people complaining about it were never going to buy a crossover anyway I couldn’t give less of a shit.

I like these. My only complaint is they’re overpriced. I built a loaded RS on Chevrolet’s website, and topped out over $50k.

Agreed! Look at incentives though I’ve seen 8-10k off and at $40k I think this is much more compelling.

I’d like to see the RDX vs the Blazer. From what I understand they upsized the RDX in its redesign so its closer in size to the Blazer than the typical compact crossover.

I mean, the new Cherokee sure as hell isn’t an XJ and it was a far fall from there. But the Trailhawk can legit Trail. new B lazer sure as hell cannot.

Totally agree, if this RS was around $40k (which it looks like you might be able to get with incentives) it seems to make a lot more sense. Still wish it had paddle shifters though!

Agree, torque vectoring c ould be useful on a lot of larger cars. I also really appreciated the torque vectoring o n the Telluride that I recently tested. It really made a difference on those back roads!

The name doesn’t bother me that much. The ‘95-’05 Blazers weren’t exactly fantastic vehicles and didn’t really do the Blazer brand any favors. S o it didn’t seem like a big deal to use the name on a crossover.

Malibu would have been a better name for it.

For some reason, I always thought the Blazer was between the Equinox and the Trax, now I’m finding it’s the Equinox and Traverse. Seems like a REALLY narrow segment to me......

Ditto. Y ou know why the Mach-E is called a Musta ng? Because people are familiar with it, and it’ll sell better because of it. Same thing here.

I find it funny that small/medium/large wasn’t enough choice, and now we apparenty need xxs/ small/not-as-small/medium/super-medium/large/XXL.

It’s gone far beyond the sub/compact/mid/full sizes that we used to deal with
